I get lost in music. There are many quotes that describe the way music expresses our feelings, captures
moments, and inspires experiences. Some include:
“Music is what feelings sound like.”
“You can’t overdose on music.”
“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.”
And my favorite:
“Music is life. That’s why our hearts have beats.”
There are endless quotes about how music has touched people’s lives. For me, music is a major part of my being.
Most of my memories are wrapped up in song. From the choirs I sang in to the lyrics I write. From sitting around listening to 45s with my dad to singing Amazing Grace at my grandfather’s funeral. From the parties where I learned what was too much to the songs I listened to as I talked myself down from the ledge.
Over the last few months I have gone through a lot. I have wrote many lyrics and listened to countless hours of music. There hasn’t been a day that I have spent without music.
I am including with this a few YouTube links… please click these links and watch, listen, and take a few minutes to separate yourself from the stresses of the day or the angst in your heart to really take these in. I’m sure you’ve all heard these two songs but they truly are great songs to start your day, to reflect, and to think about how blessed we truly are to be here each day.
No matter where you’ve been or who you were, each day is a blessing. What will be the soundtrack to
Til next time,
Let the music play on…
