I firmly believe that Jesus is still in the business of saving lives. That He is bigger than every struggle we face. That He has already overcome. That through Him, we will continue to overcome.
I have the distinct honor of watching lives change both through this organization and through Refuge.
As I wrote to you last week, I was working at the 20 Leadership Camp. I pulled double duty as a Blueshirt and keeping an eye on the fifteen students I brought from my church. Among the students I brought was the one that I'm blessed to have a great mentoring relationship with. I had been worried about her for sometime up to that point and knew that this camp was something she so desperately needed.
A tradition we have is to write note cards on the last day of camp for three different people. I was one of the three she wrote to.
Her note was simple: I got my fire back this week. Thank you.
This girl has everything in the world's eyes going against her. Most people have counted her out and given up on her. But I found something so special in her. I told her that I would never give up on her. And that's a promise I intend to keep at all costs.
It's a hard job. And sometimes I've wondered if I was making a difference. I wondered if she really was okay. And then I got that note.
That's grace. That's freedom. That's Jesus.
He wants so badly for you to let go of all the junk you've been holding onto for so long. All the things that are weighing you down, keeping you from finding freedom.
Let Him carry those things for you. Let us help you.
There is freedom in Jesus.
There is power in His name.
To break every chain.
Let His grace wash over you.
He is still in the business of saving lives.
Let Him give you freedom.
As always you can keep up with me over at ohhaiiitsbrandii.wordpress.com
