A season of change.
A season that allows for change, both beautiful and difficult.
The winds around this time of year usher in a lot of things.
It also ushers in change.
Change of pace.
Change in relationships.
Change in heart.
These are the changes that aren't always as easy.
Friendships can also experience changes in this season of change, and not always for the best.
They grow apart.
Sometimes people lose their way. They forget who they are.
They wrap themselves up in a host of bad choices. They refuse to let go of the past and let themselves heal.
They become so complacent in their pain. They forget to move forward.
And in this season of change, some friendships are left in the same state that the trees eventually find themselves in: bare.
These changes aren't always easy.
In fact, they never are.
But they are necessary.
But they always return.
But not always in the same state.
I've never experience two summers that were the same.
I can cling to the memories of the seasons past, but always remember that they will never be the same again.
I will never be the same again.
They will never be the same again.
I will continue to grow and change.
I will hope that they find the courage to.
Sometimes the walking away of a friendship isn't permanent.
Most of the time the person you are walking away from needs time to figure themselves out.
You hope in the end they don't come to resent you, but ultimately it's not in your hands.
Autumn winds usher in change.
Leaves fall away.
Winter solidifies this temporary change.
But Spring always comes, and with it comes new life.
As always you can keep up with me over at ohhaiiitsbrandii.wordpress.com
